Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot in the neck during a question-and-answer session at Utah Valley University, according to the account provided. The shooting sent students scrambling for safety and left Kirk’s family, including his wife, Erika Frantzve, and their two children, grieving.
The attack unfolded as Kirk was answering a question about mass shootings. Witnesses described a sudden eruption of panic as gunfire rang out, with students screaming, ducking for cover and rushing toward exits. Video from the scene reportedly showed Kirk collapsing beneath a tent marked “The American Comeback.”
Authorities initially detained a bystander as they responded to the violence. Investigators later determined that the gunfire came from the Losee Center building, reportedly nearly 200 yards from where Kirk had been speaking.
