**Russia Strikes Ukraine Overnight; Claims Zelenskyy Was Killed Remain Unverified**

Russia launched another wave of drone and missile strikes across Ukraine overnight, hitting multiple regions and damaging civilian and energy infrastructure as the war continues.

Ukrainian officials said the barrage struck residential buildings, power facilities and other public sites. Air-raid sirens sounded in several cities while air defenses worked to intercept incoming drones and missiles. Explosions were reported in urban areas, and emergency crews spent the night putting out fires, treating the injured and assessing damage. Authorities urged residents to stay in shelters and follow official guidance amid the possibility of further attacks.

Moscow has described recent large-scale raids as strikes on military-related targets, including industry, logistics and ports. Ukrainian officials say civilian neighborhoods and power infrastructure have also been hit, adding pressure to already strained air defenses.

At the same time, unverified posts on social media claimed a Russian strike hit a secure location in Ukraine and killed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Some of those posts also asserted that Ukrainian media were reporting his death.

There is no official confirmation from the Ukrainian government. No major international news organization has verified the claim. Zelenskyy has continued to appear in public and issue statements in recent days, including travel and official remarks after earlier strike waves.

False reports about high-profile leaders often spread quickly during wartime. Until Ukrainian authorities or multiple independent, established news organizations confirm otherwise, claims that President Zelenskyy has been killed should be treated as unverified and not reported as fact.
